We stayed three months in Vietnam around Christmas of 2015, and we loved to walk the beach at sunrise. The fishermen would row out in round, half-dome boats that looked like upside-down coconuts and cast their nets. One sunrise the sun peeked through hazy layers of cloud and the whole bay went purple and orange and blue. In the background is the Lady Buddha, taller than the Statue of Liberty, you can see her from anywhere in the bay off Da Nang.
